Monte Cristo Sandwich
This is the ultimate make at home Monte Cristo Sandwich – with turkey, ham and cheese in a sandwich that is cooked French toast style.

Ingredients
- sliced ham: 8 ounce
- sliced turkey: 8 ounce
- white bread: 8 slices
- mayonnaise: 4 tablespoon
- Dijon mustard: 4 teaspoon
- egg: 4 large
- milk: 1/2 cup
- unsalted butter: 4 tablespoon
- Gruyere Cheese: 4 ounce - shredded
Preparation
- Step 1: Start by whisking together eggs and milk in a shallow large bowl or a pie tin to make an egg batter. Place in the refrigerator to keep cool until ready to use.
- Step 2: Next, assemble the sandwich by laying out sliced of bread and layering on with mayonnaise, mustard, cheese, ham, turkey, and of course the top sliced of bread.
- Step 3: Add the butter to a large frying pan over low to medium heat until it is melted and lightly bubbling.
- Step 4: Dip a sandwich one at a time on all sides and ends in the egg batter and place into the pan.
- Step 5: Cook on both sides for about 3-4 minutes or until well browned. Turn it on the slice sides as well to brown those up.
- Step 6: Remove from the pan, dush with powdered sugar and repeat the process.
